Chris Ball is the partner in charge of JR Tax Consulting as well a
s Managing Partner of Johnston Rorke.
Chris has been working in corporate tax since 1989, having spent many years as a tax partner at Ernst & Young where he headed up both the Adelaide and Brisbane taxation practices.
Chris joined Johnston Rorke in 2003 with the specific aim of establishing a corporate tax practice for the firm. Chris now leads a large team of specialist advisors in the firm's Tax Consulting division, servicing some of Queensland's largest public companies and private groups, across a range of industries including mining, property and biotechnology.
Chris is a tax practitioner who has detailed knowledge of the tax law and a rare understanding of commerce, in both the domestic and international arenas. This combined with his plain speaking approach means Chris delivers his clients practical, easy to understand advice that is tailored to their circumstances.
Chris's commercial insight sees him act as director and business counsellor to a number of Queensland companies. Chris is currently the chairman of PPQ the joint venture between Queensland Government and the Power family, which runs the personalised number plates business in Queensland.

Ian joined our Business Services Division in 2002 and became a Pa
rtner in July 2006.
Prior to joining JR, Ian worked for ten years as a taxation advisor with international firms in the UK and in Asia. Ian delivers a niche mix of skills to the firm’s client base, including those with an international focus.
Ian is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business degree.
