Business Advisory Services
Peter Camenzuli became a Partner in our Business Advisory Services Division in July 2002 after being with the firm for approximately six years. Prior to his time with JR, Peter spent four years with an international accounting firm and one year in London working for a merchant bank and government regulators.
Peter completed a Bachelor of Business at Queensland University of Technology in 1991 and has more recently completed a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment with the Securities Institute of Australia.
Peter has gained experience in a wide variety of taxation, accounting and commercial matters. His proficiency extends to issues relevant to business in most facets of the Health Industries and Property Development.
An in depth knowledge of taxation and GST issues relevant to many industries coupled with financial management expertise has allowed Peter to create a hands on approach to his clients surpassing the general tax compliance role.
Peter is a general sporting enthusiast and spends a majority of his spare time following the Broncos, Reds and Lions.

Nigel is a partner in the firm's Business Advisory Services.
After commencing his career in industry, Nigel spent six years with an international firm and was appointed by JR in July 1996 to become a partner in July 1998. Nigel has considerable expertise in tax accounting, structuring and business financial management.
Nigel's background in accounting and tax provides a strong platform for providing balanced commercial advice to growing entrepreneurial private businesses.
Nigel has a genuine interest in understanding where the owners want to take the business. Once understood, Nigel works with owners to establish strategies to achieve their objectives. This often means providing sound commercial advice well outside the traditional boundaries of accounting and tax.
Taking a hands on approach, Nigel becomes involved in providing:-·
- Business and strategic plans - and subsequent implementation
- Business and transaction structuring
- Ongoing monitoring of financial performance, development of key performance indicators and reporting to owners/management
- Structuring for and managing succession.

Ken joined the firm in 1985 and was appointed partner in 1992
in charge of taxation and business advisory services.
Ken is one of the few tax practitioners in Brisbane with expert knowledge in most areas of taxation, including GST. As such, he is able to identify potentially significant tax issues more efficiently and more consistently than others. This has developed as a result of providing tax advice across a broad base of clients in various businesses without the industry sector and areas of practice boundaries often imposed in larger tax practices.
Ken has a Bachelor of Business from the Queensland Institute of Technology and ia a member of the Institute of Chartered accountants. He works closely with his clients in relation to the strategic management of their tax position and remuneration planning. He has presented to many client, industry and professional seminars on a wide range of taxation related topics.

Kylie became a Partner in July 2006 after being with JR's Business 
Services Division since January 2002.
Kylie manages a broad mix of small to medium sized private companies and high net worth individuals and has been effectively operating as the “second partner” for many clients for some time.
Kylie has a depth of expertise in all areas of taxations, GST, superannuation, accounting and general small business financial management.
Kylie has a Bachelor of Business Management Accountancy, is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Brett became a partner on 1 July 2007 after starting his career at 
JR in 1997.
In addition to his time at JR, Brett spent 18 Months in Europe completing a secondment with one of JR's UK based clients. During this time he was the acting financial controller of one of the groups subsidiaries. Brett currently has a mix of small to medium private clients operating in many industries including the hotel, property and the medical industries.
Brett has experience in taxation, business structuring, GST, superannuation and financial management. Brett has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Taxation Institute of Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

AUDIT & ASSURANCE
Professional Background
Jason joined the Audit and Assurance Group of Johnston Rorke Brisbane 
in 1996, and is currently the head of the firm's Audit and Assurance Group. Formerly a manager with KPMG in Brisbane, Jason has extensive experience with the audit and financial reporting obligations of listed public companies and small to large private organisations. Additionally, Jason acts for a number of entities in the not-for-profit sector, as well as the Local Government area. With more than 20 years public practice experience, including an international secondment based in London to deliver International Accounting Standard (IAS) audits in Eastern Europe, Jason is able to deliver external audit services, technical AIFRS accounting advice and internal control reviews across a broad range of industry groups. Jason is a registered company auditor and tax agent.

Katrina became a partner in our Audit and Assurance division in.jpg)
July 2005. She commenced her career with a large international firm in 1995 and joined JR in 2001.
Katrina completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in 1992 and Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1994, both from the University of Queensland. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Registered Company Auditor.
Throughout her career Katrina has worked in audit, specialising mainly in external audits of corporate clients, with experience also in internal and external audits of government entities. Since joining JR she has been involved in the audits of a several of our ASX and NSX listed entities, as well as, a number of due diligences.
Katrina has been seconded for short periods to the US twice in her career, most recently to New York with JR. During those times she was involved in a number of SEC registrant entity audits.
Katrina enjoys travelling and the occasional wine tasting.

Ross was the firm's managing partner for 15 years, however stepp
ed back from this role on 1 July 2008. He remains a senior partner of the firm and continues to lead the firm's corporate advisory practice.
Prior to joining JR in 1985, Ross worked for a major international firm for seven years including over two years in the USA. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants and specialises in corporate advisory, equity and debt raisings, corporate valuations, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and expert reports.
Ross is well regarded in the corporate finance arena. He is among a small group of Australian accountants to have successfully listed a company on the NASDAQ.

Warwick has a background in large accounting firms, where he was a Partner of Deloitte, and prior to that a Principal at Ernst & Young. For the 2 years prior to joining Johnston Rorke, he was CFO of Brisbane based ASX listed RP Data Ltd, where he lead the company's IPO process, and oversaw the completion of 6 acquisitions and integrations, and also managed strong organic growth.
Warwick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle (where he was awarded the best overall performance majoring in financial or management accounting) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Warwick's broad range of professional and commercial experience (including 2 years in the USA), is across, financial reporting, assurance, corporate finance, financial management and strategy. His core focus in the provision of corporate finance and assurance services to middle market private, private equity backed and emerging listed companies.
Warwick's thorough professional and commercial knowledge and background, enables him to deliver real solutions for our clients.

TAXATION
Chris Ball is the partner in charge of JR Tax Consulting as well as 
Managing Partner of Johnston Rorke.
Chris has been working in corporate tax since 1989, having spent many years as a tax partner at Ernst & Young where he headed up both the Adelaide and Brisbane taxation practices.
Chris joined Johnston Rorke in 2003 with the specific aim of establishing a corporate tax practice for the firm. Chris now leads a large team of specialist advisors in the firm's Tax Consulting division, servicing some of Queensland's largest public companies and private groups, across a range of industries including mining, property and biotechnology.
Chris is a tax practitioner who has detailed knowledge of the tax law and a rare understanding of commerce, in both the domestic and international arenas. This combined with his plain speaking approach means Chris delivers his clients practical, easy to understand advice that is tailored to their circumstances.
Chris's commercial insight sees him act as director and business counsellor to a number of Queensland companies. Chris is currently the chairman of PPQ the joint venture between Queensland Government and the Power family, which runs the personalised number plates business in Queensland.

IAN JONES
Ian joined our Business Services Division in 2002 and became a 
Partner in July 2006.
Prior to joining JR, Ian worked for ten years as a taxation advisor with international firms in the UK and in Asia. Ian delivers a niche mix of skills to the firm’s client base, including those with an international focus.
Ian is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business degree.

BRUCE ANNABEL FCA, MPS, FACP, BA (acc), PPF Pharmacy Industry Medal of Excellence (2007).
Bruce Annabel is one of Australia's leading authorities on the bus
iness aspects of community pharmacy management.
His contribution at both industry and client level is much sought after. While Bruce recently retired from Partnership responsibilities he continues indefinitely in a consultancy capacity. As such his drive and focus on improving the industry and his clients' relevance to their customers will continue unabated.
Bruce is an enthusiastic triathlete, and has competed at both National and International level.

Teresa Hooper has over 25 years working experience in both the commercial and.jpg)
professional fields. Her past business roles have given her a broad view on all aspects of operating businesses on all levels.
This experience has contributed to her breadth of knowledge which makes her ideally suited in her role in assisting businesses to develop management skills and advise them on matters of financial reporting, computer applications and general business practices.
Teresa has worked closely in the pharmacy industry during the last six years and has more recently moved in to specializing in IT solutions for small business.
Her membership of the AIPM Queensland Chapter Committee allows her to give direct input into management issues affecting pharmacy.
In her spare time, Teresa is raising two children, and after that even the most complex business issue becomes a snap.

Mark Nicholson is the Managing Partner of JR Pharmacy (a divisio
n of Johnston Rorke Chartered Accountants).
Mark is both well known and highly regarded in the pharmacy industry for his practical advice when it comes to the complex issues surrounding the business of Pharmacy. His industry insight and business expertise is regularly on display in various national pharmacy publications and when presenting at industry forums.
Professionally, Mark is a Fellow of ACP and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Securities Insititute of Australia.

Norman has been an invaluable member of JR’s Pharmacy Divis
ion and has conscientiously supported our clients during that time.
Norman joined the JR Pharmacy Services Division in 2003 and became a partner in 2006. Prior to his time with JR, Norman spent eight years with an international accounting firm specialising in a retail industry.
Norman brings together wide ranging knowledge of accounting and taxation for small to medium businesses as well as strong commercial experience by staying in touch with the latest pharmacy industry trends, government regulations and consumer demands. This enables Norman to provide detailed advice and recommendations to the division's clients to improve their financial returns.
