About Us - JR's Foundation
Ross Johnston and John Rorke established the firm in 1974 after both had gained valuable experience with large international accounting practices. They brought to Johnston Rorke a different approach to the accounting profession.
Although they were both technically proficient in their own areas of speciality John and Ross believed that the practice should focus on forging exceptional client relationships which are underpinned by the provision of straight talking, no nonsense, commercial advice.
Like all good partnerships John clicked with Ross and the firm as we now see it is a direct result of that union. Both Ross and John provided strong accounting input and a logical and commercial approach to resolving those issues which confronted the expanding practice.
At the same time they fully appreciated that if JR was to grow then new Partners with different skills to their own would be required.
The culture and strength of JR has been built around its Partners and the different qualities that they have brought to the firm. Like all founding principals of successful businesses the frame work for this development was laid by Ross and John. Their imprint is unmistakable on the firm as it is today
